Unforgettable Camping in Samburu

Hey peeps! Hope your year is off to a great start? Mine is but typical of January, it’s a slow month. And after my Christmas holiday in the village regaining momentum is proving tough. Even writing this post is a struggle! Anyway, join me today as I look back at one of the most amazing trips I took last year. Continue reading “Unforgettable Camping in Samburu”

It’s My Birthday! Celebrating Life and Natural Hair

Hey peeps it’s that time of the year again! Wedding high season is here. Everybody’s  getting married/ engaged and I’m just over here like… Anyway it’s my birthday today! Another year has gone by without negative incidents, and I thank God. I’ve just returned from camping in Samburu (post coming up soon). Life may be challenging but it sure beats the alternative. Any day above ground is a good day. And so I give thanks. For life, for all God has helped me achieve- chief among them being able to grow out my natural hair. If you’re a natural hair enthusiast, read on. If you’re not, still read on…you may learn a thing or two. 🙂 Continue reading “It’s My Birthday! Celebrating Life and Natural Hair”

Highlights 2016

I’ve come to notice that the year moves at the speed of light during the last quarter. One minute it’s October 1st, the next we’re singing Christmas carols. That in contrast to the beginning of the year where each day seems to have 30 hours. I can’t believe it’s December already. And this has been quite a year for me. Continue reading “Highlights 2016”

My Nature Kenya Experience

There are things we wish we had discovered earlier because they are so amazing. It’s only in May this year that I discovered Nature Kenya, even though it’s been in existence for ages (since 1909 actually, when it was founded as the East African Natural History Society). It is a non-profit conservation organisation that works to promote the understanding and conservation of nature. To find out what I like about N.K, read on… Continue reading “My Nature Kenya Experience”

My Other Love

Hey there. If you’ve been following this blog for a while, you may know me as a photographer. But like most creatives, I have other skills as well. Some people call it ‘the artist’s curse’ because with so many skills, one tends to get confused about where to focus their energy. An artist may have 5 or more artistic talents and asking them to pick one is like asking a mother to choose her favourite child. (Although some people readily play favourite with their kids). But I digress. Read on to find out what one of my other talents is… 🙂 Continue reading “My Other Love”

Road Trip to Suswa

Before I started running this blog, I hesitated a lot. I didn’t know what I’d be writing about. Being ‘just another blogger’ was something I feared greatly. Going with the crowd and following trends has never been my cup of tea. As such, it took me very long before making the first post. But a good friend of mine encouraged me to just start and things would soon fall into place. So I did. And now, it’s increasingly looking like a travel blog what with all the trips I’ve been making. Continue reading “Road Trip to Suswa”

Conquering Mt. Longonot

At the beginning of this year, one of the things I really wanted to do was travel more. When you come to the realization that life is happening every day, enjoying it becomes important. There’s no point in waiting for the day that everything will be ‘perfect’, when you’ll have everything, to finally enjoy life. Continue reading “Conquering Mt. Longonot”

Marvelous Mara Adventure (Part 2)

Hey there, welcome to Part 2 of my Mara chronicles. If you missed Part 1, find it here. Without any ado, dig right in… Continue reading “Marvelous Mara Adventure (Part 2)”

Marvelous Mara Adventure

One of my goals for 2016 (I call them goals, not resolutions) was to travel more. This also is a goal for many of you, I’m sure. But I realised that without taking deliberate steps to make it happen, it could remain a dream. So I did my homework and researched on what it would take to go to Maasai Mara. Continue reading “Marvelous Mara Adventure”

Birding at the Racecourse

What fun outdoor activities can you possibly undertake on a cold day? The kind of weather that is synonymous with a hot cup of cocoa, being tucked in your blankets watching a good series? Few things appeal to me at such times. The older I get, the more I appreciate staying home to chill. The struggle is real.
