Amazing Weekend at Elementaita

I’ll never forget May-July 2017. It was one of the most stressful seasons of my life. But also very eye-opening. I had earnestly prayed about something and God answered…though not in the way I expected. Being thankful and trusting Him despite that was quite a challenge, but He showed me that I’m stronger than I think. So after that rough patch, an opportunity to go camping was a welcome relief.

Birding at Paradise Lost

I haven’t gone for birdwalks in quite a while, life has been chaotic, stressful and ultra busy in the last few weeks. But that’s a story for another post. Today I (virtually) revisit one of my favourite birdwatching locations. Read on to join in the journey… Continue reading “Birding at Paradise Lost”

Day Out at Kisames

I am increasingly becoming addicted to travelling. Whether it’s a day trip or several days of camping, it’s more likely that I’ll take the opportunity when it presents itself rather than decline. Especially when it involves being out in nature. There’s nothing like it really. It’s therapeutic to the soul. Nature is unpretentious- what you see is what it is. Unlike people who are good at putting on masks…that’s a story for another post. Today I recount my experience at the incredible Ngong Hills. Continue reading “Day Out at Kisames”

That in contrast to the beginning of the year where each day seems to have 30 hours. I can’t believe it’s December already. And this has been quite a year for me. Continue reading “Highlights 2016”

Marvelous Mara Adventure

One of my goals for 2016 (I call them goals, not resolutions) was to travel more. This also is a goal for many of you, I’m sure. But I realised that without taking deliberate steps to make it happen, it could remain a dream. So I did my homework and researched on what it would take to go to Maasai Mara. Continue reading “Marvelous Mara Adventure”

Birding at the Racecourse

What fun outdoor activities can you possibly undertake on a cold day? The kind of weather that is synonymous with a hot cup of cocoa, being tucked in your blankets watching a good series? Few things appeal to me at such times. The older I get, the more I appreciate staying home to chill. The struggle is real.

Going wild in the City

I love celebrations. So when a suggestion was put forward for a day out to celebrate our friend Mwarv’s winning a photography award, I was all in. It’s been a while since I attended a photographers’ hangout. Quite a while. They’re usually enjoyable: being with friends, eating and of course shooting. And shooting means learning something new in the process. Continue reading “Going wild in the City”
