Hey peeps and happy birthday to me! Someone’s growing old. As the year draws to a close I decided to do a recap of the last 12 months. It has been quite a year hasn’t it? Full of surprises like the U.S President’s tweets. And closer home, Embu County employing workers to manually kill Fall Armyworms. Yes, you read that right! Anyway, if you missed last year’s summary post, catch up here –> (Highlights 2016) Maybe I could make this a thing, reviewing every year. What do you think?
I can’t keep calm, it’s my blog’s birthday! Yep! On this very date last year, I made my first blog post. What a journey it’s been! Joy, hope, disappointment, surprise, pain and hard work are just some of the ingredients of my experience so far. Join me in the celebration as I look back at it all… Continue reading “My Blog Turns 1!”
Hey peeps it’s that time of the year again! Wedding high season is here. Everybody’s getting married/ engaged and I’m just over here like… Anyway it’s my birthday today! Another year has gone by without negative incidents, and I thank God. I’ve just returned from camping in Samburu (post coming up soon). Life may be challenging but it sure beats the alternative. Any day above ground is a good day. And so I give thanks. For life, for all God has helped me achieve- chief among them being able to grow out my natural hair. If you’re a natural hair enthusiast, read on. If you’re not, still read on…you may learn a thing or two. 🙂 Continue reading “It’s My Birthday! Celebrating Life and Natural Hair”
I’ve come to notice that the year moves at the speed of light during the last quarter. One minute it’s October 1st, the next we’re singing Christmas carols. That in contrast to the beginning of the year where each day seems to have 30 hours. I can’t believe it’s December already. And this has been quite a year for me. Continue reading “Highlights 2016”
There are things we wish we had discovered earlier because they are so amazing. It’s only in May this year that I discovered Nature Kenya, even though it’s been in existence for ages (since 1909 actually, when it was founded as the East African Natural History Society). It is a non-profit conservation organisation that works to promote the understanding and conservation of nature. To find out what I like about N.K, read on… Continue reading “My Nature Kenya Experience”
Today we’re taking it back, waay back…so get your bell bottoms and block heel shoes…okay, not that far back. Just a year ago. I was going through some of my (forgotten) images the other day and this brought back a flood of memories. Grab a drink and come along on this time travel with me. Continue reading “A throwback 2015: New Beginnings”
